I did not get a phone call, however there were both Jewish and Christian clergy who heard from the White House this week -- asking for help!  Check out this excellent article -- it sounds like she really understands the Bible....

The Obama Clergy Call
Janet M. LaRue
Thursday, August 27, 2009

ObamaCare needs a crash cart. It's so ominous that President Barack Obama is partnering with God and the God-squad to keep the American people from pulling the plug.

"Thousands of religious leaders got a call from on high last Wednesday when Obama reached out to Jewish and Christian clergy, urging them to push health care reform from the pulpit," according to Fox News. "We are God's partners in matters of life and death" Obama told rabbis in an earlier call Wednesday, according to Ben Smith at Politico.com.
Notice that Obama didn't refer to it as "serving" God. Obama is partnering with God on life and death. Are we feeling better yet?
Following the administration's compulsory tenet, "never let a crisis go to waste," Obama simply parted the "wall of separation" between church and state in hope that the Republicans will drown in his sea of red ink.
Apparently Obama has converted from his position in 2004: "I think there is an enormous danger on the part of public figures to rationalize or justify their actions by claiming God's mandate." Partnering with God to accomplish "necessary reform" sounds like a mandate.
At CNN's "Compassion Forum," in 2008, Obama said those in the public square shouldn't claim a "direct line to God":
And the biggest danger, I think, for those of us of religious faith when we're in the public sphere is a certain self-righteousness, where we start thinking that, "Well, you know, I've got a direct line to God." You know, that is incompatible with democracy. You may have a direct line to God. But, you know, that is not -- the public square is not the place for us to empower ourselves in that way.
The problem with Obama's clergy call is, if you criticize Obama's plan, according to Obama, you're "bearing false witness." Apparently, Moses is the new White House Truth Czar. David Brody of CBN called it a "slap down":
When the President got on that Wednesday conference call sponsored by progressive and moderate faith leaders he said some of his critics are "bearing false witness". Well it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that he's definitely referring (not exclusively) to people who are talking about these death panels and government funding of abortion. Guess what? He's talking about conservative Evangelical groups. When you come out on a FAITH conference call and use the words, "bearing false witness" that is a direct slap down of conservative Evangelical groups.
God's new junior "partner" should follow his own advice by reading the company manual. On the subject of making public policy, it was Obama who said [at 42 seconds on the tape]: "So before we get carried away, let's read our Bibles. Folks haven't been reading their Bible."
How about giving us chapter and verse on God's mandate for government-run health care, especially if it includes funding for abortion and end of life counseling panels for seniors and the infirm?
Obama reads the Bible much like he reads the "living constitution." He told Cathleen Falsani of the Chicago Sun-Times in 2004: "I'm rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people.
Falsani recognized that Obama's theology contradicts Christ's words:
It's perhaps an unlikely theological position for someone who places his faith squarely at the feet of Jesus to take, saying essentially that all people of faith -- Christians, Jews, Muslims, animists, everyone -- know the same God.
That depends, Obama says, on how a particular verse from the Gospel of John, where Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me," is heard.
Obama expects us to take him at his word on matters of life and death, but he questions Jesus' words on something as vital as salvation. Call it skepticism, but don't call it "rooted in the Christian tradition."
"Let me be clear" is Obama's "pet phrase." Obama can speak clearly but Jesus can't?
Yet, Obama thinks he's heard God clearly on the right way to reform health care, clearly enough to say "preach it, brother."
Speaking of Moses, the Books of the Law include many essential public health regulations, but there's nothing directing government to provide anything close to ObamaCare.
The Great Physician healed lots of sick folks, but He never billed Caesar, or lobbied Rome or Jerusalem for health care.
Obama urged the clergy to "tell the stories of health care dilemmas to illustrate what is at stake" in their sermons. The Obama version of the woman who was healed after touching Jesus' robe might sound something like this:
It is absolutely tragic that in the most prosperous nation on earth a woman suffers a debilitating illness for 12 years because of George Bush and a vast right-wing Republican conspiracy. It's another example of doctors who over-charged and misdiagnosed a patient, and made things worse. Then greedy insurance companies denied her coverage because of her pre-existing condition. Daughter, Obamacare is here for you. I've appointed a Prognosis Czar and a panel of waste-cutters who will decide if you can be made well. If it costs too much, we'll get some pain killers to you via the postal service. Go in hope and change.
Obama said that if elected, he was "absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick."
And that's about how long it will take to see a doctor under Obamacare. Try to get a window seat so you can watch the oceans recede and the planet heal while you wait.

This morning I received this email and thought it was an urban legend.  Its not -- look what a Procter & Gamble Executive wrote to El Presidente and his personal feeling about the Big O's performance!

Lou Pritchett is one of corporate America’s true living legends- an acclaimed author, dynamic teacher and one of the world's highest rated speakers. Successful corporate executives everywhere recognize him as the foremost leader in change management. Lou changed the way America does business by creating an audacious concept that came to be known as "partnering."    Pritchett rose from soap salesman to Vice-President, Sales and Customer Development for Procter and Gamble and over the course of 36 years, made corporate history.

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA
 Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America ' crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaugh's, Hannity's, O'Neill's and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

 Lou Pritchett

This letter was sent to the NY Times but they never acknowledged it.  Big surprise.  Since it hit the internet, however, it has had over 500,000 hits.  Keep it going. ... or don't - It's your country.

All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing.  It's happening right now

Hey, we had a great weekend at NewSong.  This was the weekend of our benefit auction and concert for our worship ministry.  This coming year our worship ministry wants to record our original Christmas Worship Experience - HIStory!  Our hope is to record the music, do a DVD and package for smaller and medium sized churches.  The auction went well even though it was not well attended.  It still brought in $8300.  The concert was fabulous.  What talent our church has!  They raised another $1000. With some additional gifts to come in, we will reach our $10,000 goal! Praise the Lord!

Recently the liberal Lutheran denomination ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) decided to accept and acknowledge ministers who were in a same-gender relationship. Don't let their name fool you - they are far from evangelical and Luther would have set their church aflame with his scriptural rebuke.  It is amazing how far they have gone.  I attended a Lutheran high school. Really great experience and for the most part fairly sound. They spoke of Christ and a personal faith. There were many who took full advantage of their liberties in Christ, especially during the Octoberfest beer celebration. yet they would have never stood for this kind of apostasy. Here is my suggestion -- this week find a Lutheran.....ask them about their denomination's new found position....ask them how it squares with the Bible....and then invite them to your church where the Bible is preached. Do it in honor of old Martin Luther who is turning over in his grave!!!

Here is an AP story about the new policy...

MINNEAPOLIS - Even though the Rev. Mark Chavez believes the leaders of his church made a decision in direct contradiction of the Bible by lifting a ban on sexually active, monogamous gays and lesbians as clergy, he said he's staying with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.

"I'm not leaving," Chavez said Friday night, promising an effort to keep the church moving even further toward what he sees as an embrace of behavior condemned by Scripture.

Chavez, of Landisville, Pa., is director of Lutheran CORE, a conservative group within the ELCA that fought the homosexual clergy policy. The group will hold a convention in Indianapolis in September to review its next steps, but Chavez said he thinks some ELCA clergy, congregations and individual members will walk away from the nation's largest Lutheran denomination.

The change to gay clergy policy passed with the support of 68 percent of about 1,000 delegates at the ELCA's national assembly. It makes the group, with about 4.7 million members in the U.S., one of the largest U.S. Christian denominations yet to abandon the authority of God's Word on homosexuality.

"I have seen these same-gender relationships function in the same way as heterosexual relationships - bringing joy and blessings as well as trials and hardships," the Rev. Leslie Williamson, associate pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Des Plaines, Ill., said during the hours of debate. "The same-gender couples I know live in love and faithfulness and are called to proclaim the word of God as are all of us."

But the change may be too much for some Lutherans. Conservative congregations will not be forced to hire gay clergy, but opponents nevertheless warned there could be spiritual consequences for a church that strays from Scripture.

"This will cause an ever greater loss in members and finances. I can't believe the church I loved and served for 40 years can condone what God condemns," said the Rev. Richard Mahan, pastor at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Charleston, W.Va. "Nowhere in Scripture does it say homosexuality and same-sex marriage is acceptable to God. Instead, it says it is immoral and perverted."
Mahan said he believed a majority of his congregation would want to now break away from the ELCA.

Other leaders indicated they might leave as well. The Rev. Tim Housholder, pastor of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove, Minn., described himself during the debate as a rostered ELCA pastor "at least for a few more hours." The Rev. Marshall Hahn, pastor at St. Olaf Lutheran Parish in Dubuque, Iowa, said he'd need to talk to his bishop "to discuss what this means for my future with this church."

Other Christian denominations in the United States have struggled to remain united in the face of such debates. In 2003, the 2 million-member Episcopal Church consecrated its first openly gay bishop, a move that alienated American Episcopalians from its worldwide parent church, the Anglican Communion. The divide has led to the formation of the more conservative Anglican Church in North America, which claims 100,000 members.

But ELCA supporters of its denomination's change said failure to ratify it ran just as great a risk of alienating large portions of the membership, particularly younger ones.

The Rev. Katrina Foster, pastor at Fordham Evangelical Lutheran Church in The Bronx, N.Y., said Lutherans heard similar warnings about flouting Scripture when they made past changes that are now seen as successful - chiefly, the ordination of women.

"We can learn not to define ourselves by negation," said Foster, a lesbian. "By not only saying what we are against, which always seems to be the same - against gay people. We should be against poverty. I wish we were as zealous about that."

Under the new policy, heterosexual clergy and professional lay workers must still abstain from sex outside marriage. The proposed change would cover those in "lifelong, monogamous, same-gender relationships."

What a great weekend I had! First, I had the joy to perform another wedding at NewSong. I have lost track of the exact number -- it is somewhere in the range of 35-40 weddings in 11 years and it was my 78th wedding!  What a great joy.  This was especially meaningful, as my wife and I had initially encouraged these two kids to get together.  We are not hanging out a "matchmaker" shingle -- but it was fun to watch the relationship develop.

Then on Sunday we were privileged to have Dr. Jimmy DeYoung, prophecy teacher, preach Sunday morning and evening.  Jimmy has lived in Jerusalem for a dozen years and has committed his life to the issue of end times teaching: The Rapture, Antichrist, tribulation, second coming and the rest -- plus a fantastic teaching walking us through the book of Revelation.  Contact NewSong for the two messages!!

Ministry is soooooo fulfilling!

Sad to say President Obama remains "non-committal" when it comes to the USA's support of Israel and our long held tradition to encourage the Jews to their national right to the land that God gave them through Abraham. Funny how we forget some basic things concerning Israel's rightful possession of the land. Instead we see Israel being made the bad guy and demonized.  I found the following facts that I thought were incredible.  As our church "Celebrates Israel" this Sunday - take a moment and pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for the realization of Jesus as the Yeshua Messiah!

1. Nationhood and Jerusalem - Israel became a nation in 1312 B.C.E., two thousand years before the rise of Islam.

2. Arab refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades after the establishment of the Modern State of Israel.

3. Since the Jewish conquest in 1272 B.C.E. the Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.

4.  The only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 B.C.E. lasted no more than 22 years.

5.  For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital.  Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, they never sought to make it their capital, and Arab leaders did not come to visit.

6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy Scriptures. Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran.

7. King David founded the city of Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem.

8.  Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.

9.  Arab and Jewish Refugees - In 1948 the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders promising to purge the land of Jews. Sixty-eight percent left without ever seeing an Israeli soldier.

10.  The Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution and pogroms.

11.   The number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is estimated to be around 630,000. The number of Jewish refugees from Arab lands is estimated to be the same.

12.  Arab refugees were INTENTIONALLY not absorbed or integrated into the Arab lands to which they fled, despite the vast Arab territory. Out of the 100,000,000 refugees since World War II, theirs is the only refugee group in the world that has never been absorbed or integrated into their own peoples' lands. Jewish refugees were completely absorbed into Israel, a country no larger than the state of New Jersey.

13.  The Arab - Israeli Conflict: The Arabs are represented by eight separate nations, not including the Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations initiated all five wars and lost. Israel defended itself each time and won.

14.  The P.L.O.'s Charter still calls for the destruction of the State of Israel. Israel has given the Palestinians most of the West Bank land, autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, and has supplied them with weapons.

15.  Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were denied access to places of worship. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of all faiths.

16.  The U.N. Record on Israel and the Arabs of the 175 Security Council resolutions passed before 1990, 97 were directed against Israel.

17.  Of the 690 General Assembly resolutions voted on before1990, 429 were directed against Israel.

18. The U.N was silent while the Jordanians destroyed 58 Jerusalem Synagogues.

19. The U.N. was silent while the Jordanians systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives.

20. The U.N. was silent while the Jordanians enforced an apartheid-like policy of preventing Jews from visiting the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

These are incredible times!  We have to ask what our role should be. (For those of you who were kind and interested enough to read, the preceding, please read two more items:

v    Israel is the ONLY MEMBER OF THE UN THAT IS NOT PERMITTED MEMBERSHIP ON THE SECURITY COUNCIL

v    Israel has NEVER BEEN PERMITTED MEMBERSHIP IN THE INTERNATIONAL RED CROSS

Here is the best yet regarding health care. Everyone is in an uproar that something HAS to be done about health care.  It is a national crisis, right? All we hear is this "sky falling down" rhetoric which heightens the debate and fuels this hurry up mentality without really knowing what is in the bill.  What if I told you that most of the bill will not be implemented until 2013?  Wait one minute, are you trying to tell me that part of this deal is to delay actually putting the legislation into action until the beginning of the next Presidential term?

Today it was reported that the way the bill is crafted, nothing will really be done that will be significantly be felt until 2013. Why is that? Only one can guess but here are some of my thoughts:

1. With all the fear about people losing their health care - if it is enacted and for three years you see no change Obama can say.... "You see the opponents were all wrong and I was right." The problem is that nothing had happened until 2013.

2. 2013 is the next Presidential change -- Obama can run for a second term without the American people feeling the wrath of his new health care on their wallets.

3. If he does not get elected -- whoever is will have to live with the consequences of this legislation.

If health care is such a catastrophic issue in this country and Obama wants to save the day -- lets make sure he does it while in office and he can bear the weight of the criticism and accountability for its possible successes and more likely terrible failures.

Recently I received some push back from a prayer I gave at the PA Capitol. One of the reasons is that I pray “in Jesus’ name!” Can you imagine that? But the fact is His Name is offensive, especially to those who do not know Him. It made me think about the NAME or better the “nameS” of Jesus. Did you know that Jesus is called a number of names in the Bible? In the MacArthur Study Bible there is this great chart. Check it out! How many of these names did you know Jesus by and did you ever consider the significance of the name given???

I can't believe that I am posting a column by karate expert Chuck Norris. However everyone is getting into the "bash Obama" mode.  You have got to read this article -- especially if you are a young parent and what the government will be imposing on you.....

Health Cares Dirty Secret

Health care reforms are turning into health care revolts. Americans are turning up the heat on congressmen in town hall meetings across the U.S.
While watching these political hot August nights, I decided to research the reasons so many are opposed to Obamacare to separate the facts from the fantasy. What I discovered is that there are indeed dirty little secrets buried deep within the 1,000-plus page health care bill.

Dirty secret No. 1 in Obamacare is about the government's coming into homes and usurping parental rights over child care and development.
It's outlined in sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838), under the heading "home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children." The programs (provided via grants to states) would educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills.
The bill says that the government agents, "well-trained and competent staff," would "provide parents with knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor domains ... modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices," and "skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development."
Are you kidding me?! With whose parental principles and values? Their own? Certain experts'? From what field and theory of childhood development? As if there are one-size-fits-all parenting techniques! Do we really believe they would contextualize and personalize every form of parenting in their education, or would they merely universally indoctrinate with their own?
Are we to assume the state's mediators would understand every parent's social or religious core values on parenting? Or would they teach some secular-progressive and religiously neutered version of parental values and wisdom? And if they were to consult and coach those who expect babies, would they ever decide circumstances to be not beneficial for the children and encourage abortions?
One government rebuttal is that this program would be "voluntary." Is that right? Does that imply that this agency would just sit back passively until some parent needing parenting skills said, "I don't think I'll call my parents, priest or friends or read a plethora of books, but I'll go down to the local government offices"? To the contrary, the bill points to specific targeted groups and problems, on Page 840: The state "shall identify and prioritize serving communities that are in high need of such services, especially communities with a high proportion of low-income families."
Are we further to conclude by those words that low-income families know less about parenting? Are middle- and upper-class parents really better parents? Less neglectful of their children? Less needful of parental help and training? Is this "prioritized" training not a biased, discriminatory and even prejudicial stereotype and generalization that has no place in federal government, law or practice?
Bottom line: Is all this what you want or expect in a universal health care bill being rushed through Congress? Do you want government agents coming into your home and telling you how to parent your children? When did government health care turn into government child care?
Government needs less of a role in running our children's lives and more of a role in supporting parents' decisions for their children. Children belong to their parents, not the government. And the parents ought to have the right -- and government support -- to parent them without the fed's mandates, education or intervention in our homes.
Kids are very important to my wife, Gena, and me. That's why we've spent the past 17 years developing our nonprofit KICKSTART program in public schools in Texas. It builds up their self-esteem and teaches them respect and discipline. Of course, whether or not they participate in the program is their and their parents' choice.
How contrary is Obamacare's home intrusion and indoctrination family services, in which state agents prioritize houses to enter and enforce their universal values and principles upon the hearts and minds of families across America?
Government's real motives and rationale are quite simple, though rarely, if ever, stated. If one wants to control the future ebbs and flows of a country, one must have command over future generations. That is done by seizing parental and educational power, legislating preferred educational methods and materials, and limiting private educational options. It is so simple that any socialist can understand it. As Josef Stalin once stated, "Education is a weapon whose effects depend on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed."
Before so-called universal health care turns into universal hell care, write or call your representative today and protest his voting Obamacare into law. Remind him that what is needed in Washington is a truly bipartisan group that is allowed an ample amount of time to work on a compromise health care law that wouldn't raise taxes (for anyone), regulate personal medical choices, ration health care or restrict American citizens.

OK – is anyone else getting sick of the health care discussion? I am not sick – as in tired of talking about it – I am sick of all the misinformation; fear mongering; politicking that has been connected with the discussion about health care. Before I start my rant, let me say that I know we have a problem with rising costs; accessibility and lack of available medical personnel. However, going to a less competitive; governmental run health care system will create a greater crisis. Not only that, NO POLITICIAN is discussing one of the greatest evils being perpetrated on the health care industry – frivolous law suits by ambulance chasing lawyers. Nevertheless, this national conversation has forced us to do some good ole fashion research to get the real scoop on this issue. My biggest question has been this incredibly high number of “uninsured Americans” that democrats and other PRO govt health care pundits keep touting.
The figure I last heard (I say “last” because depending on who you talk to the number changes) – it was 50 million. So I asked myself where does one find out WHO THESE people really are – so I typed into google – “uninsured Americans” – novel research techniques! It took me to Wikipedia where I found documented numbers…..here is what I found out!
·        8 Million are children. Here's the problem….they are already provided for thru their state’s CHIP program. We already provide to the poor families who have kids.
·        8 Million are young adults between 18-24 yr old. Here's the problem. These are students or young people “finding themselves” – they are extremely healthy and most can be on their parents policies until 21 yrs old if they are in college. They do not NEED a health policy per say.
·        Of the 34 million that remains – 43% or 14 million are non-citizens living in America – that’s right “illegal aliens” – they have broken the law and are undocumented and so we are going to provide for these people who should not be here. If we offer them govt health care guess how many more will cross our borders??
·        We are now down to 20 million – of that 10 million are actually “acute or chronically uninsured” – the other ten go off and on insurance because they change jobs; move; go into retirement; lose their jobs or a large percentage do not want insurance. Who is that? People who have “self insured” – they have set up health savings accounts years ago and their WISE investment has afforded them with a handsome savings invested and all they purchase is catastrophe insurance and pay their very high deductible or co-pays.
·        Here are some more facts…. The highest states are Texas; California; NY; New Mexico; Florida. Throw those states out of the union and we have NO CRISIS!
·        61% of the UIA make under $50K – 38% make over $50K.
·        Just over 1/3 of the UIA are Hispanic…little less than a 1/3 are blacks….the rest is OTHER!
You see this is a manufactured crisis. You hear about the few tragic cases where families that have an unusual illness will go into bankruptcy – tragic! But why over turn the best health care system in the world for a few cases. Could it be that Obama and the democrats are using this faux-crisis to pay back minorities and grease the palms of a voting bloc that has been “very, very, good to the them?” That is what it looks like!
One last thought – in 1986 President Reagan signed into law the “Emergency Medical Treatment Act” which basically says that every American deserves and must receive emergency care – no one is turned aside. Now that does not mean they receive long term care, I understand that. But for life threatening care, you get it in America.
Americans need to wake up and smell what is cooking in the White House. This has little to do with caring for the needy but assuring a vote for the years to come! Problem is that middle class Americans will pay the bill while people who are not giving a dime into the system drain us dry of resources. If you don’t believe me – just look at California.
Whole world Needs A Leader Like This!

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd - Australia

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..

Separately,
Rudd angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:
'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. '

'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society .. Learn the language!'

'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'

'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

There is NO issue that is more important to the future of our country then government run health care.  This is crouching us towards socialism.  Yet no one seems to be aware of the facts -- or better yet, are they willing to discuss the facts.  Someone just emailed me this....check it out and then go to the government website and read the bill yourself!

IRS Ends Audit of Minnesota Church in Case About Sermons
The Internal Revenue Service has told a Minnesota church under examination for the content of the pastor’s sermons that the government is no longer pursuing the audit because of a “procedural issue” involving the tax agency’s initial inquiry into the church.
But in a letter to the Warroad Community Church, in Warroad, Minn., the IRS said that it “may commence a future inquiry” into the church after the agency resolves the procedural matter, which the government did not explain in detail.
Gus Booth, pastor of the church, was one of many ministers who last year preached sermons intended to deliberately challenge the 1954 federal law prohibiting charitable organizations and churches from engaging in partisan political activity.
The Alliance Defense Fund, a Scottsdale, Ariz., nonprofit group that argues cases on behalf of Christian causes, promised free legal support under its “Pulpit Initiative” to churches, including Warroad Community Church, that agreed to challenge the federal ban on political speech during sermons about the moral qualifications of candidates seeking political office that were given on Sunday, September 28, of last year.
The fund has said that its initiative is not about “whether pastors should or should not ‘endorse’ candidates” but about restoring “the right of pastors to speak freely from the pulpit without fear of punishment by the government for doing what churches do: speak on any number of cultural and societal issues from a Biblical perspective.”
According to a statement from the Alliance Defense Fund, Mr. Booth sent the IRS a copy of a sermon he preached in May 2008 about primary elections and a copy of his September 28 sermon about the general election. The fund said that the IRS began an inquiry in August 2008.
In a short, July 7, 2009, letter to the church, the IRS said that it was closing the examination because of “a pending issue regarding the procedure used to initiate the inquiry.”
IRS officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
Lawyers for the Alliance Defense Fund said they were disappointed the IRS has dropped the examination. “ADF would likely have waived any complaint about procedural concerns involved in the investigation stage of the audit in order to reach the merits of the case and clarify the law,” said Erik Stanley, the fund’s senior legal counsel, in a statement.
The IRS suffered a setback earlier this year when a federal court ruled that a different church did not have to comply with an IRS summons for information because the summons was authorized by a government official of insufficient rank.
Some tax-law experts have said that the IRS’s defeat in the case could force the agency to write new rules to determine who has the authority to order an investigation into a church.

Just had this list of "Blue Dog" democrats emailed to me.  Even though I have a very conservative congressman representing our district, you might have one of these folks!!! Get calling -- they are the key to DEFEAT HEALTH CARE!!!

So for my lack of entries....have been on vacation. Trying to take a break from blogging and Facebook.  Will be back on track by August 9th.  See you then....JM

On Sunday August 2nd, the below article was to be published in the Lancaster Sunday News -- the editor informed me it was too long so he would "trim" it down -- this is the entire article......

Setting The Record Straight on My “Prayer at the PA House” Controversy

I have had the privilege to pray in many settings. Business functions; Rotary; Sporting events; dedications of municipal buildings; memorial services commemorating 9-11 and of course your routine religious activities – weddings; baby dedications and funerals.  Each time I thoughtfully craft my words to make people consider our requests to God as well as be Biblically accurate so God will listen. Some times people have thanked me and even complimented me on my intercession to the Almighty. But none has invoked such a response (both negative and overwhelming positive) then the prayer I delivered on Wednesday June 10th at the PA House of Representatives.  Since that day I have been forced to think -  why such the reaction?  Was it the content of the prayer?  Was it the context of the prayer (The Capitol)? Or maybe it was how I ended the prayer?  Many people are talking about the prayer, and even. labeled it a “political prayer” yet that was not my intent. I appreciate the opportunity I have been given to set the record straight. But before I explain, I think it is important for you to actually read the prayer for yourself.

Our gracious Heavenly Father, we come before You today because we have nowhere else to go. For You are the true and living God. You are the Maker of Heaven and Earth. You are the sustainer of man and all that we are or ever will be. You are the only real HOPE for our nation and our commonwealth. We come before You in this grand hall, before the important and the powerful, in complete humility and brokenness because Your holiness consumes our failings, reveals our iniquities and lays bare all of our unrighteousness.

We come to ask Your forgiveness and seek Your help and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to those who call evil good," but that's exactly what we've done. We have ignored Your spiritual compass and have tried to guide our paths with our own values, desires and indulgences.

§  We confess that we have mocked the absolute truth of Your Word and called it relativism.

§  We have worshipped other gods, failing to acknowledge You alone and called it multi-culturalism.

§  We have exploited the poor and naïve; and called it the lottery.

§  We have made excuses for the law breaker and called it tolerance.

§  We have demeaned the law keepers and called it politically correct.

§  We have neglected our neighbor and called it self-preservation.

§  We have rewarded laziness, irresponsibility and called it welfare.

§  We have killed our unborn and called it a choice.

§  We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

§  We have neglected to discipline our children and called it releasing their creativity.

§  We have abused power, been party to back room dealing and even hoped for our colleagues down fall and called it political savvy.

§  We have squandered our resources and paid back favors with taxpayer’s funds and called it a stimulus.

§  We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

Search us O God and know our hearts today; try us and see if there be some wicked way in us; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.
Guide and bless these men and women, who have been sent here by the people of Pennsylvania, and who Your Holy Word calls, ordained ministers of peace, to govern this great commonwealth.

Grant them your wisdom to rule and may their decisions direct us to the center of your will. May they choose today to be servants of You, Almighty God, and then prosper their steps for their obedience.  May we live in reverent fear of your greatness in comparison to our insignificance.

I ask it, in the name of your son, our living Savior and Master, Jesus the Christ. Amen.

First question, how did I get invited to pray in the House?  My State Representative, Scott Boyer graciously submitted my name for consideration, as can any House member. The Speaker then formally invites you. It is important for you to know that Scott never saw the prayer and never asked for a copy and never encouraged me to pray in this way. Moments after I said “AMEN” – House members stormed the Speaker’s desk in protest. Scott was not in the hall at the time, but was summoned by the Speaker.  I am not sure of all the words spoken, but the tone and exchange was not friendly to say the least. I have not talked with Scott since June 10th but do know that he has unfairly caught flack over it.

Second question, what were you thinking when you crafted the prayer?  To be honest, I was not sure what to pray. So I googled – “House of Representative Prayers” – I got thousands of hits. I perused the plethora of prayers getting ideas. I found one in particular that resonated with my musings. Pastor Joe Wright delivered that prayer in the mid 1990’s to the Kansas House. Some have accused me of reciting his prayer. If you read both our prayers, you will see similarities in form but not in wording. My desire was to offer up a Biblically accurate prayer and to stir people’s thinking on moral issues of our day. There are issues in the world that many are concerned about. It seems that God’s ideas on issues are being silenced. I am not trying to make people believe what I believe, however the American way is to provide the freedom where all ideas and beliefs can be stated and each individual sorts out what they believe is the truth.

Third question, did you think anyone would be upset?  Stirred, forced to think, uncomfortable for sure, but not upset in the way that a the few House members were that day.  Not to cause Keith McCall the Speaker to issue a policy where visiting pastors’ prayers would be reviewed priority to delivery and where the “name of Jesus” would not be allowed to mention. Nevertheless, I have been even more amazed by the positive response I have received. I have emails from State politicians from California, Texas and Connecticut all contacting me and thanking me. I have hostesses in restaurant pat me on the back and affirm what I said. Then I had a woman in the waiting room of Frank’s Garage thank me for saying what she is feeling! I think the backlash has been decidedly more positive then negative.  I think I hit a nerve on what the “rank and file” in this country feels. I think its call the silent majority.

Fourth question, are you just another “axe-to-grind, politically-motivated, fighting-fundy, leisure suit wearing preacher” who sees everyone in the government as the devil’s relative?  Absolutely not, I stopped wearing leisure suits in the 80’s! The fact is I was so honored to pray at the capitol because I believe our elected officials are what God’s Word calls them - “divinely ordained ministers of God” (see Romans 13). I believe that even though I do not like certain policies and many decisions, God commands us to submit to, encourage and pray for our governmental officials.  I also know that everyday they hear from pollsters, pundits and fundraisers on how to shape their decisions -- why not hear from God’s heart?  Everything in my prayer has its roots from a precepts or principles of God’s Word. If people are upset with the prayer, then they need to take it up with the Holy Scriptures.

Finally, what was the most surprising aspect of this ordeal?  That is easy – how the “Name of Jesus” was the real offence to people. The agitated House members were most upset in my closing. I could hear them say “he had no right to pray that way!” I later found out that it was because I prayed in my Savior and Lord’s Name. What did they think I was going to say? America is a beautiful tapestry of religious freedom.  I have no problem with a Catholic invoking Mary’s name; a Rabbi invoking Jehovah’s name; an Imam invoking Allah’s name; a Mormon invoking Moroni’s name and Buddhist invoking Buddha’s name.  It is wrong when the Speaker singles out evangelical Christians and tell us that we cannot say the name of the One who gave His life for us! I am thankful that the Speaker saw the unconstitutionality and inappropriate nature of his prayer policy and has gone back to the old policy leaving it up to the pastor to determine what he believes God wants him/her to pray.

Upon reflection, this issue is NOT whether you agree with what I prayed or not. The real issue of this situation is recognizing that at no time should the government ever “silence the clergy” or legislate how someone can pray. We have a long held, rich history of asking the Almighty to bless the affairs of our government. When the clergy’s voice is dictated by the politician whims, we have stepped onto a slippery slope and grievous trouble is ahead. Check your world civilization history on that fact.  I am glad that I was used to provoke thinking and cause us to be reminded how easy the freedoms we have enjoyed for centuries could be threatened and equally how it can be rescued -  if you are willing to take a stand and say a prayer. At least this time around – “Pastors 1- Politicians 0!”
