Here is the best yet regarding health care. Everyone is in an uproar that something HAS to be done about health care.  It is a national crisis, right? All we hear is this "sky falling down" rhetoric which heightens the debate and fuels this hurry up mentality without really knowing what is in the bill.  What if I told you that most of the bill will not be implemented until 2013?  Wait one minute, are you trying to tell me that part of this deal is to delay actually putting the legislation into action until the beginning of the next Presidential term?

Today it was reported that the way the bill is crafted, nothing will really be done that will be significantly be felt until 2013. Why is that? Only one can guess but here are some of my thoughts:

1. With all the fear about people losing their health care - if it is enacted and for three years you see no change Obama can say.... "You see the opponents were all wrong and I was right." The problem is that nothing had happened until 2013.

2. 2013 is the next Presidential change -- Obama can run for a second term without the American people feeling the wrath of his new health care on their wallets.

3. If he does not get elected -- whoever is will have to live with the consequences of this legislation.

If health care is such a catastrophic issue in this country and Obama wants to save the day -- lets make sure he does it while in office and he can bear the weight of the criticism and accountability for its possible successes and more likely terrible failures.
